eyes on the prize

Let’s face it, not everyone in your family will be as thrilled to be a part of your family portraits as I will be taking them.

Your reward will be beautiful images, but what will your kids’ incentive be?

Often, it helps when children have a bonus to look forward to at the end of their photoshoot.

I have my own children, so I get it.

(And no, photographers’ kids are not more interested in having their photos taken, in my experience.)

Many happy kids will excitedly share with me that after their shoot they get to pick a new toy, are headed to a playground, or get extra screen time back at home.

Whispering “What kind of doughnut are you going to get after?” into your child’s ear usually elicits a big grin + a sweet photo.

This tip is useful for spouses, too.

(Yes, I’m looking at you, my wonderful hubster.) 😉
