wear warm layers
As you prepare for your family photo session outdoors, consider dressing your family in cozy layers, unless you know it’s going to be a warm day.
Layers add visual interest to photos, but more importantly, keep everyone warm during our temperamental weather in the lower mainland.
Warm people are happy people, especially children.
In the example, this family has successfully put together stylishly layered outfits.
Inspired by their son’s sweater, they created a cohesive look by carefully sticking to their wardrobe colour palette of just those tones on his sweater: maroon, charcoal, cream, + camel.
This mom is wearing a long, knit, cream cardigan over her maroon dress, with charcoal tights underneath, + knee-high leather boots in a camel colour.
Her daughter is wearing a cream + charcoal knit sweater dress, which hides a warm layer underneath, with cream tights, + camel coloured suede ankle boots.
Both this dad + his son sport long-sleeved collared shirts (a.k.a. button-up shirts) with similar plaid prints in maroon, cream, + charcoal, with knit sweaters over top.
